NAC organized their fourth event on the 22nd of November. Around hundred people gathered outside IESE despite the fact that it was a chilly Saturday morning. The participants as well as the NAC’s host team were no short of enthusiasm for the hike to the top of Margalla hills. The event head had other fun activities planned as well for the participants to make their hiking experience more memorable.
The participants were handed a scavenger list as well to hunt during their hike till the top. The scavenger list was about identifying people in the hike and also to interact with each other. The hike till the top was planned in such a way as to form two groups. The first group headed to the summit through the fire trail. The fire trail is a shorter way to the summit but the trail itself is challenging for most of the hikers spare the few. The other group proceeded through the normal trail. During the journey to the top the hikers feasted their eyes on glorious views of the city of Islamabad as the Margalla hills encircle the capital of the Islamabad thus providing breath-taking view of the city’s landscape.
Upon reaching the summit, the hikers were served lunch. The group wandered around the Monal restaurant at the top taking snaps of the wonderful sights from the top. The Margalla hills are one of the most iconic landmarks of the capital and the magnificent Monal attracts many visitors too! The group also encountered people of different descents including Asians, Caucasians and even people from Europe and the Americas. The group was back at the base of the hills by dusk and eventually headed back to NUST. The whole executive body worked tirelessly through-out the hike to make the experience as memorable and entertaining as possible for all of the participants.
